International Stereotypers and Electrotypers Union. Local 40 (Des Moines, Iowa)
Des Moines Stereotypers Union, Number 40 was chartered in October 1898 to promote the craft, obtain fair wages, improve working conditions, and encourage camaraderie among the stereotypers in Des Moines. In 1976, after the closing of the stereotype department at the Des Moines Register and Tribune, the Des Moines Stereotypers Union Number 40 was dissolved.
