Charles Mitchener Dodd, professor and ceramic engineer, attended Hiram College (1914-1916) and received his B.S. (1926) and Ceramic Engineering Degree (1933) from Ohio State University. He served as a Professor of ceramic engineering at the University of Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy before accepting the position of Professor and Head of ceramic engineering at Iowa State College (University). Dodd's area of expertise was in structural clay products, refractories, and ceramic equipment and plant design.
