Waban Woman's Club.
Woman's charitable, literary, civic, and social club founded in 1896 in Waban (part of Newton), Mass.; joined Newton City Federation of Women's Clubs in 1899 and later the General Federation of Women's Clubs. Originally a forum for discussing subjects such as philanthropy, sociology, literature, and art; later became involved in community affairs. First president: Mrs. William H. Gould.
