Benjamin Ulin (1899-1997)
Benjamin Ulin was born in Boston on October 21, 1899. He attended Harvard University and the London School of Economics. A committed activist, Ulin was the founder of Boston's Zionist House and the Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly. Ulin also served as President of the Associated Jewish Philanthropies (1953-1956) and the Combined Jewish Philanthropies (1962-1964), Vice President of the Zionist Council (1943-1960) and Vice President of Zionist House (1945-1988.) In addition, he was also President of the Jewish Community Council (1953-1956) and the Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly (1965-1975), served on the boards of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds and the National Jewish Community Relations Advisory Council, and was the first President of the Large City Budgeting Conference.
