Hoose, Ellison van, 1868-1936
Variant namesEllison Van Hoose (1868 Murfresboro, Tenn - 1936 Houston, Tex.) grew up in Gainesville, Ga. where his father was a Baptist minister and brother, A. W. Van Hoose was president of Brenau College. He studied voice in New York, Rome, Paris and sang with the Metropolitan Opera and Chicago Opera and was elected to membership in the American Academy of Teachers of Singing.
