Clayton family.
James A. Clayton (1831-1896) and his wife, Anna Louinia Thomson (1843-1917) moved to San José, Santa Clara County, California in 1853. Clayton became permanently identified with San Jose where he operated a photography studio. James A. Clayton became active in the Santa Clara County community when he was elected county clerk, then served as President of the First National Bank of San Jose and opened the James A. Clayton Company real estate buisness.
