The Office of the Vice President for Research was instituted at the University of Central Florida during the 1988-1989 academic year, becoming separate from the previous Office of Research and Graduate Studies. The office is responsible for all the research activities at the university, on campus and with UCF affiliated instutions, as well as partnerships with outside institutions. Over the years, the office has evolved to become the Office of Research and Commercialization.
