Fisher, Hendrick, 1697-1779
Variant namesColonial legislator, of Somerset County, New Jersey; born Hendrick Visscher, probably in present-day Germany; also served as a deacon in the Dutch Reformed Church, as president of the board of trustees of Queen's College (now Rutgers University) under its charter of 1770 and as president, in 1775, of the First Provincial Congress of New Jersey.
