Oglesby family.
Richard J. Oglesby, elected governor of Illinois in 1864, 1872 and 1884, appointed to the U.S. Senate in 1873 and his son John G. Oglesby elected Illinois lieutenant governor in 1908 and 1916, made the Oglesby family active in politics for almost a century.
