Variant namesOn 1861 Aug. 9 Julius H. Bayol and his brother Francis E. enlisted as privates in the Greensboro Guards, Co. I, 5th Ala. Infantry Regiment. The 5th Ala. Infantry Regiment fought at Seven Pines, Cold Harbor, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, and in many of the conflicts in northern Virginia.
