Brotman, Seymour.

Community and social activists. They moved to Scranton, PA from Plainfield, NJ in 1970 with their two young sons. From 1970-1991, Seymour served as executive director of the Jewish Community Center. He served as executive director of the Jewish Federation from 1978-1991. He also volunteered with numerous community organizations, including the Judaic Chair of the University of Scranton.

Kathy served as the Campaign Associate of the Scranton-Lackawanna Jewish Federation for thirteen years. She instituted the Northeast Chapter of the National Association for the Education of Young Children while earning her master's degree at Marywood College (now University), where she later taught early education classes. She also volunteered with numerous community organizations, including the American Cancer Society.

They retired from their positions within the Jewish Federation and the Jewish Community Center in August 1991, but they continued to serve as community volunteers.
