Archibald Michie was a lawyer and politican. He was one of the barristers who defended the Eureka rebels.

Jurist and politician, Michie was born in London in 1813. In 1839 he emigrated to Sydney where he practised as a barrister. Beginning his political career in Victoria in 1852, he was Minister of Justice 1863-1866, and held the Attorney-Generalship in 1857 and 1870-1871. From 1873 to 1879 he was Agent-General. He died in Melbourne in 1899.
