Ames, Mildred
Born in Connecticut in 1919, Mildred Ames began writing as a child, though she did not write professionally until middle age. After the publication of two works of adult fiction, she began writing juvenile literature, producing more than a dozen juvenile and young adult books with a variety of settings. Her works focus on personal growth, relationships, and universal emotional experiences. Mildred Ames died in 1994.
