Macomber family
Biography
The Macomber brothers, George (May 1814 - June3, 1900), Henry (December 1836- August 2, 1908), and Frederick S. (born February 1838) of Utica, New York, arrived in California in 1850. They mined gold in several counties and, 1861, bought a large orchard in Sonora, establishing a pickle, apple cider and apple cider vinegar works. The cider works produced champagne cider.
