Christian Crusaders
C.W. Campbell, a Salvation Army convert began this temperance, Christian, and benevolent organization in 1897, based on the military organization of the Salvation Army. It eventually developed to 18 "bands" throughout Michigan with a weekly publication called the "Herald of Salvation," which was published in Mount Pleasant (Mich.). After 30 years the group disbanded.
