The Congregation, founded by Mary Ann Sammon, O.P. (1843-1901) in the 1870s, was incorporated as an independent congregation in 1890. Their early mission of care and education of orphans has expanded to include nursing, parish ministries, senior citizen programs, and care of unwed mothers.
