Hard, Dudley J., 1872-1950.
Dudley J. Hard was a Cleveland businessman and soldier. He was a member of Cleveland's Troop A, serving with the First Squadron Ohio Cavalry during the Mexican border dispute of 1916-17, and with the 135th Field Artillery in France during World War I, commanding the unit from Aug. 1917 to Apr. 1919. He retired a brigadier general in 1936. His father, Curtis V. Hard, of Wooster, Ohio, served as a colonel in the 8th Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the Cuban campaign of 1898.
