Frantz wrote chiefly for the Latin American service of United Press.

After the Hoover tour, Frantz made four large scrapbooks of pictures and other memorabilia concerning the journey. As there were duplicate copies of many pictures he left them in a letter-file for future disposition. At Ithaca in June 1971 he re-assembled these surplus prints. Many of these photos were made by Merl LaVoy, celebrated international photographer with whom he had worked in the Balkans during World War I. Some others were made by sailors aboard the U.S.S. Maryland between San Pedro, California, and Valparaiso, Chile. Under pressure of cable received at Antefagasta, Chile, Frantz collected all the photographs available, and they were dispatched by airplane from Valparaiso to Buenos Aires on chartered small airplane. The airplane got across the Andes but had to stop one day in Mendoza, Argentina, for repairs. However, the pictures arrived at Buenos Aires in time for publication before the arrival of the party. Close colleague of Frantz during the tour was Thomas A. Stokes of United Press, who wrote the news for the United States newspapers.
