The Baptist World Alliance Committee on Evangelism and Missions was created in 1963 to conduct a study on Baptist evangelism efforts in forty countries. This committee had sub-committees of five to eight people in each locality included in the study. Following an outline made by the international committee, each subcommittee produced a paper that covered the categories: definition of evangelism, present situation, biblical basis, theology, and future evangelism.
