Stegeman family.
Henry Van Eyck Stegeman (1890-1954) graduated from Hope College in 1912 and from Western Theological Seminary in 1917. He was licensed and ordained (1917) by the Reformed Church in America and served as a missionary in Japan (1917-1941). Stegeman's wife, Gertrude Jeanette Hoekje, also graduated from Hope College in 1912. She joined her husband in his missionary work.
