Normington-Rawling, James
Variant namesRawling joined the Communist Party in Newcastle in 1925 and became a full time functionary in 1932. He was involved in the formation and operation of several anti-war organisations during the 1930's. Rawling was expelled from the Party in 1939, resuming a teaching career in 1945. He was a key witness against the Party during the Victorian Royal Commission on the Communist Party. His biography of Charles Harpur was published in 1962.
