Graduated Dartmouth College, 1859; graduated Jefferson Medical College, 1861; appointed assistant surgeon, U.S. Army, 1862; brevet major, U.S. Army; held professorships at Cincinnati College of Medicine and Surgery, Medical College of Ohio, and Dartmouth Medical College; served on the Commission to Investigate the Conduct of the War Department in the War with Spain, 1898-1899. Born, 23 Aug. 1839, Westchester, Pa. Died, 26 Mar. 1909, Cincinnati, Ohio.
