Rhiannon (Vocalist)
Variant namesVocalist, performance artist, feminist, and lesbian, Rhiannon grew up on a farm in South Dakota before moving to New York where she received an MFA from Cornell University. She worked for ten years as a singer, actor, and director in New York, Chicago, and San Francisco. Rhiannon has performed with the all-women jazz ensemble Alive!, Bobby McFerrin's Voicestra, and WeBe3, an a cappella ensemble with fellow Voicestra members. For 35 years she has taught her own vocal improvisation process in conservatories, universities, and master classes. Rhiannon studies the relationship between music and healing, and has participated in programs for refugees in the Balkans and in hospitals and hospices in California.
