Federico Cervantes was a military engineer and journalist who got his degree at the Military College of Chapultepec, Mexico. He studied aerial navigation in Europe with the French Corps of Engineers. In 1913, Cervantes returned to Mexico and joined forces with General Francisco Villa in the convention of Aguascaliente. He was a representative for General Felipe Angeles. With the triumph of constitutionalism, he left the army and was named director of the academy. Cervantes held a debate with Col.
