Addison and Bridport Thief Detecting Society (Vt.)
The Addison and Bridport Thief Detecting Society was organized on December 16, 1816 "...to prevent all kinds of theft and to pursue and bring to justice any person or persons that shall steal property from any member." By 1947, active pursuit of thieves had ceased. However, the Society still meets annually, alternating between Addison and Bridport, Vermont.
