Elizabeth (Sandwith) Drinker, 1735-1807
Elizabeth Sandwith Drinker's milieu was the community of well-to-do Quakers in eighteenth century Philadelphia. She was born in 1735, the daughter of Sarah Jervis Sandwith and William Sandwith, a Philadelphia merchant and shipowner. In 1761 she married Henry Drinker (1743-1809), also a merchant. An invalid much of her life, she died in 1807.
