Native of Strawberry, Arizona and school teacher.
Edith Peach Slaughter was born in Strawberry, Arizona in 1885. Her family had come to Arizona in 1878, and settled in first the East Verde area, and, finally, Strawberry. Edith Peach got her teaching credentials from Northern Arizona Normal School, and began teaching. While she was teaching at Strawberry, enrollment dropped and the school was forced to close. She then taught in the Eager area, married and raised her family. she has also served as Apache County School Superintendent, and retired in 1946.
