Represented in the collection are George Harvey Clarke (1852- 1931), merchant of Richmond, Va., and his wife Mary Ellen (Pollard) Clarke (1862-1939), his father Augustus Burfoot Clarke (1818-1898), a hardware merchant of Richmond, Va.; John Pollard (1839-1911), a Baptist minister of Baltimore, Md., and Richmond, Va., and professor at Richmond College (now the University of Richmond); and Edward Bagby (1843-1864), a Confederate soldier.
