The San Antonio Professional Chapter of Women in Communications, Inc. is a non-profit professional organization that began as an alumni chapter of the college honorary society, "Theta Sigma Phi" in the mid-1930's. In 1948 the San Antonio chapter was recognized by the national group. In 1972, Theta Sigma Phi changed its name to Women in Communications, Inc. ("WICI"). The mission of WICI is "to unite women for the purpose of promoting the advancement of women in all fields of communications."
