Luidens graduated from Hope College in 1912 and from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in 1915. He held pastorates at Hope Reformed Church in West Hoboken, New York (1915-1919), Highland Park Reformed Church, New Jersey (1919-1930), and Brighton Reformed Church in Rochester, New York (1930-1950).
