Alice Edwards Emerson taught piano and music history at the Ithaca Conservatory of Music and later at the conservatory's successor institution, Ithaca College, the University of Chicago, Wellesley College, Cornell University, and Hobart College. Her husband was Cornell University archaeology professor Alfred Emerson.
