Gregg Cantrell earned his Ph.D. in American History from Texas A&M University in 1988. He also holds an M.B.A in Management from Texas A&M. He focuses on southern U.S. and Texan history courses while teaching at Texas Christian University. Dr. Cantrell has published numerous articles and books, including Kenneth and John B. Rayner and the Limits of Southern Dissent (1993), Stephen F. Austin, Empresario of Texas (1999), and Feeding the Wolf: John B. Rayner and the Politics of Race, 1850-1918 (2001).
