Caroline Cornelia Barnum was the daughter of impresario P.T. Barnum. In 1849 Jenny Lind, "the Swedish Nightingale," contracted for an American concert tour with P.T. Barnum, who added temperance lectures to her concerts. Miss Barnum accompanied her father and Lind on the tour.
