Spalding, Mary Connally, 1877-1953.

Mary Connally Spalding served on the Board of Directors for the Southern Baptist Historical Society (SBHS) as the Georgia representative from approximately 1947-1951, and then served on the Historical Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention from 1952-1953. Mrs. Spalding worked closely with the SBHS to identify and preserve Baptist history. Her father-in-law, Albert Theodore (A. T.) Spalding (1831-1921), was a prominent Baptist minister, who served as pastor of churches in Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky and Texas. While pastor of Walnut Street Baptist Church, Louisville, Kentucky, Dr. Spalding helped found the Baptist orphanage.
