Residents of Loudoun County, Va.

Little information is available about Samuel Carr and John C. Carr. Research suggests these two members of the Carr family are descendents of John Carr, known as the Emigrant, who was born in 1684 in County Down, Ireland. He moved to Loudoun County, Va., about 1750, died in 1794, and is buried in Union Cemetery in Leesburg, Va. Samuel Carr appears to have been the grandson of Thomas Carr, eldest son of John, the Emigrant. He was born in July 1814 and died in 1881. John Calhoun Carr (26 Mar. 1849-20 Sept. 1915) was the great-grandson of Peter Carr (1740-1812), the youngest son of the Emigrant.
