Lewis, Ralph H.

Ralph H. Lewis was born in 1909, and began working for the National Park Service in 1935, serving as chief of the Museum Branch (1954-1964), and as chief of the Branch of Museum Operations (1964-1971). After retiring, Lewis wrote Manual for museums (Washington : National Park Service, U.S. Dept. of the Interior ; for sale by the Supt. of Docs., U.S. Govt. Print. Off., 1976), and Museum curatorship in the National Park Service, 1904-1982 (Washington, D.C. : Dept. of the Interior, National Park Service, Curatorial Services Division, 1993). Lewis also produced collection management plans for seven parks.
