Swain, Su Zan Noguchi

Su Zan Noguchi Swain (b. 1916) was an illustrator in Colorado. She was very interested in biology and collaborated with her husband, entomologist Ralph Swain, to produce insect guides.

Su Zan Noguchi Swain (1916-2010) became a scientific illustrator with Doubleday Publishing after she graduated with a degree in arts from the University of Colorado. She married Ralph Brownlee Swain, an entomologist, and illustrated several books and guides they worked on together. After her husband's death, she continued to illustrate primarily books on the natural sciences. All told, she illustrated more than twenty books.
