Community Service Center (New Orleans, La.)
The Community Service Center, Inc., was a private, non-profit charitable corporation in New Orleans, La. Its purpose was to reduce recidivism by providing opportunities for former Orleans Parish prisoners, and preparing them for self-supporting work. It provided trade training, job opportunities, individual counseling, and group therapy. In the 1960s and 1970s, the organization coordinated its activities with faith-based, state and local agencies. In the twenty-first century, the CSC is an agency of the United Way of Southeast Louisiana.
