Central Michigan University. Associated Women Students.
AWS was a club open to all women students at Central Michigan University, 1943-ca. 1974. The goals of the club were to further a spirit of cooperation and friendship among women students and promote their social and intellectual growth. The club's activities included: co-ed carnivals, dances, lectures, teas, fashion shows, the spring formal ball, and various World War II war support efforts. Margaret Mead spoke at an AWS conference, 1962-1963.
