Philip Kearny (1733-1798): wine merchant, of Perth Amboy, Middlesex County, New Jersey; owned one-half share of the brig Franklin; lost estate due to loyalist activites; lived in later life near Newark, New Jersey.
John Watts Kearny: merchant, of New York City; born in 1778; worked as a clerk for Le Roy, Bayard & Co., 1792-1803; in business as a merchant, at first with his brother Philip (as John W. and Philip Kearny), beginning in 1803; lived in retirement at Saugerties-on-Hudson from 1830; died in 1850. Son of Philip Kearny (1733-1798).
Philip Kearny (1780-1849): merchant, of New York City; in business with his brother John W. Kearny for a number of years beginning in 1803; helped found New York Stock Exchange, 1817. Son of Philip Kearny (1733-1798).
Philip Kearny (1815-1862): soldier, of New Jersey; lost an arm while fighting in the Mexican War; served as a Major General in the Union Army. Son of Philip Kearny (1780-1849).
