Julius Palffy-Alpar was born in 1908 in Hunyard-Kristyor, Transylvania. He received the diploma of Maitre d'Armes and Sports instructor. He was faculty in the Physical Education Dept. at U.C. Berkeley from 1962-1975. Palffy-Alpar taught Marcel Marceau how to fence and became friends.
