Arius Nye, born in Marietta, Ohio, the son of Ichabod Nye, was a banker, lawyer, judge, Ohio state representative and senator. John T. Brasee (or Brazee), a Gallipolis lawyer, moved his practice to Lancaster, Ohio in 1833, served in the Ohio Senate in 1856.
