Leik, Robert K.

Robert Kendric Leik was born on November 26, 1930 in Dubuque, Iowa. He earned his B.A. in 1953 from the University of Oregon. He earned his M.S. in 1957 and Ph.D. in 1960 from the University of Wisconsin. Professor Leik was a faculty member at the University of Washington (1959-1973) and at the University of Massachusetts (1973-1975) before joining the faculty at the University of Minnesota in 1975. He was appointed as professor of sociology and director of the Minnesota Family Study Center. In addition, Professor Leik also served as associate dean of the graduate school and director of undergraduate and graduate studies at the University. Robert Leik retired from the University of Minnesota in 2001.
