The Stephen Winchester and Mary Hannah Stone family was converted to the Mormon Church in 1833. The oldest child of five was Benjamin Sr. (1817-1901) who was an author, publisher, and businessman. Benjamin Sr. had five children who survived into adulthood including Savillion, Americus, Benjamin Jr., Josephine Marion, and Francis Amelia. Benjamin Sr. left the Mormon Church in 1844 and later lived in Pittsburgh, Penn. and in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Stephen and Mary immigrated to Utah.
