Trimble (Chicago, Ph.D. 1918) was Edward S. Wood Assistant Professor of Biological Chemistry at Harvard Medical School from 1924 to 1955 and special consultant to the dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Harvard University 1956- . His research dealt with carbohydrate metabolism, purine metabolism, and biochemistry in relation to dental problems.
