Sarah Morris Perot was born on December 6, 1831 to Francis Perot and Elizabeth Marshall Morris. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Society of Colonial Dames of America, the Philadelphia Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, President of the Philadelphia Home for Incurables, and she took part in other philanthropic work such as assisting the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.

Edward H. Ogden was born on April 15, 1832 in Philadelphia. He graduated from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 1853. The same year, he entered the wholesale drug business with T. Morris Perot in Philadelphia.

Sarah Morris Perot married Edward H. Ogden on December 1, 1853, and later moved to Riverton, Burlington County, New Jersey.
