T'eng, Kuei, 1902-

Kuei T'eng was a Chinese artist, a student at the Harvard-Yenching Institute, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Artists of China. He worked in the united States in the late 20's and early 30's, and his work was exhibited at the Weyhe Gallery. In 1932, T'eng returned to China and pursued a career as an artist, sculptor and instructor at various government sponsored institutions. His letters from China document life during 20 years of upheavel there, ending, in 1952, with thoughts of leaving China for work in the United States.
