Ireney, Metropolitan of All America and Canada, 1892-1981.
Metropolitan Ireney (Bekish) was born and ordained a priest in Russia, and came to the United States as a displaced person in 1952. He was Bishop of Tokyo (1953-1959); Bishop of Boston (1960-1965) and was elected Metropolitan in 1965. He retired in 1977.
