Bacon, Francis R. (Francis Rogers), 1888-1965
Francis R. Bacon, a birthright Quaker, was Dean of Western Reserve University's School of Architecture. Born in Haddonfield, N.J., son of Samuel Allen and Elizabeth Bacon, he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Architecture in 1913. He married Edith Melrose Farquhar in 1915, and in the early 1920's they participated in the AFSC child feeding programs in Germany and Russia. They moved to Cleveland in 1923 and remained until his retirement in 1953.
