William Fotheringham (1826-1913), from Scotland, was an early missionary in India and South Africa for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

William Fotheringham (1826-1913) was born in Clackmannan, Scotland, to John Fotheringham and Charlotte Gentle. He was baptized into the Mormon Church in 1847. In his service to the church he was a teacher, an Elder, a member of the Seventy, a High Priest, a Bishop, and a Patriarch. In addition to this he was one of the first settlers of Lehi, Utah, went on a mission to Indiana from 1852 to 1855, was mayor of Beaver City, and was president of the South African Mission from 1861 to 1864.
